Team Info

Rally the troops! Teams who have 10 or more members can place a 10x10 tent in the team area for “Team Reunion”. You will need to fill out an Expo Form (click here) and fax to us no later than May 20. Half Marathon, 5K and 10K Start Line Approved Parking Locations:

All half marathon, 5k and 10K participants must park at the start line area, surrounding Saddleback Memorial Medical Center and at the Laguna Hills Mall. Post race shuttles from the finish line to the start line depart from the Laguna Hills Community Center, on Hawk High Way, beginning at 8:30 am. There are NO PRE-RACE shuttles. Last shuttle back to the start line is at 12 noon.

From I-5 North:


Exit El Toro Road and turn left

Turn left on Avenida de La Carlota

Road Closures and Detours

Local Traffic


Aliso Viejo residents who want to cross Alicia Parkway when traveling South on Moulton Parkway, Pacific Park or Aliso Creek Road during the hours of 7am to 9 am on Monday, May 29, 2016 can use the CA-73 Toll Road by entering at the Alicia Creek entrance South, (Tolls will be waived during this 2 hour period).






There are NO pre race shuttles! In order to ensure a prompt start time of *7:00 am for the Half Marathon and *7:00 am for the 5K/10K, all Half Marathon & 5K/10K participants must park at the Start Line! If you do park at the Finish Line you must walk to the start line.


Participant Info


Half Marathoners & 10k runners must start before 7:10 am. Late arrivals will not be allowed to officially start the race.


5K Run/Walk must start before 7:15 am. Entry into the gates of Laguna Woods Village will not be granted past 7:55 am. Late arrivals will not be allowed to officially start the race.





Post Race Shuttles will begin running from the finish line, on Hawk High Way, to the start line at 8:30 am.


Head up the hill towards the back of the community center.  Look for shuttle signs and the red, white & blue balloons.


Shuttles will continue between the finish line and the start line from 8:30 am until 12:00

noon. The last finish line shuttle back to the start line will leave at 12:00 noon!





All half marathon, 5K & 10K finishers receive a medal.

Awards and T-shirts


All participants will receive a 19th Anniversary City of Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathon, 5k, and 10K, Honoring the United States Marine Corps Dark Horse Battalion event t-shirt. T-shirts will be available at Pre-Race Packet Pick Up on Saturday, May 27th and Sunday, May 28th from 11:00am to 4:00pm and PRE race at the start line on Memorial Day, May 29th.


The top three male and female finishers in each age division (listed below) will receive a commemorative  City of Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathon, 5k, and 10K, Honoring the United States Marine Corps Dark Horse Battalion award. Awards will be available after the race on Memorial Day. Awards not picked up on race day will only be mailed upon request (a small shipping charge will apply).

Race Rules


Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable but participants may roll their entry fee to the following year if they send a written request prior to May 19, 2017.


Participants must be in good health and fit enough to participate in the event.


Participants must show photo ID at packet pickup to receive your bib, timing chip and other items associated with the event.


Parents of children without photo ID may pick up race items on their child’s behalf.


Participants may pick up a family member’s or friend’s race items at early packet pickup if they provide a signed waiver (coming soon) and a copy of a photo ID of the participant they are picking up for.


All race day bib and timing chip pickups must be done by the participant.


Bib numbers are required to participate and those who attempt to participate without bib numbers will be removed from the course.


No bikes, in-line skates, skateboards or dogs are allowed on the course.


Baby joggers are allowed but must start in the back of the field to prevent accidents or collisions with other participants.


For safety reasons headphones are not permitted.



WALKERS: The 5K is open to both walkers and runners. Those interested in walking the 10K or half marathon need to be able to complete the 10K course within the 2 hour time limit and 4 hours for the half marathon



Kids Races:


Half Mile Race (1/2 mile race): Great for Kids 11 & 12 years, 9 & 10 years, 7 & 8 years, 4, 5 & 6 years.


50-Yard Diaper Dash for Kids 3 & Under


*All Age Groups will be staggered and start approximately 3~5 minutes apart. Note big kids go first so plan to arrive at the start line accordingly.


**Parents are welcome to escort their children on the Kids Fun run/walk. Parents do not need to be registered to escort their children. If any parents would like to register to receive a t-shirt they must register for the 5k, 10k or Half Marathon events.  Adults cannot register for the kids run.
